What sets them apart
The most misread label in the hobby, and the reason is structural: BCCG ran a deliberately looser scale than BGS under the same brand.
Beckett's own published comparison put a BCCG 9 at roughly a PSA 7, and collectors widely place a BCCG 10 nearer a PSA 6 or 7. A BCCG 10 is not a gem card and never was.
Where the slab sells
Searchable on eBay as its own grader, but it does not carry the recognition of BGS and does not price like it. Not standard inventory at the major auction houses. The practical test: a BCCG slab sells against other BCCG slabs, not against BGS ones, and the gap is wide enough that treating the two as interchangeable is where the money is lost.
Turnaround
Discontinued around mid-2020. Nothing has been submitted to BCCG for roughly six years; the slabs in the market are all legacy.

Nothing to submit to. The only live question is what a BCCG slab you already own, or are about to buy, is actually worth.
Known concerns
The scale is the concern and it cannot be fixed, because there is no longer a company to fix it.
A BCCG 10 is not a gem card; collectors place it nearer a PSA 6 or 7, and Beckett's own chart put a BCCG 9 at a PSA 7. Listed beside BGS 9.5 comps it reads like a bargain and is not one. Because the service is retired there is no population being added, no recourse and — while Beckett's estate remains dark after 9 September 2026 — no working lookup either.
History
Launched around 2001 as Beckett's cheap, high-volume grading tier, aimed at bulk and lower-value cards that could not justify a BGS fee.
It ran on a deliberately looser scale than BGS under the same brand — Beckett's own published comparison put a BCCG 9 at roughly a PSA 7 — and spent most of its life being criticized for it. Beckett stopped offering it around the middle of 2020. The slabs did not go anywhere: cheap grading produced a great many of them, and they still turn up in listings every day.
