HGA is paused entirely while ucollect.com rebuilds it
Nothing to submit while it is paused, and slabs you already hold carry the old standard.
Cardboard JournalOur analysis
A pause framed around tightening standards is an admission about what came before. HGA drew criticism for grading generosity, and rebuilding around stricter standards and full subgrade transparency is a company agreeing with its critics in the only way that costs it something.
That is worth crediting. It is also worth being precise about what it means for slabs already in the market: they were graded under the old standard, and a rebuild aimed at strictness implies the new standard will not be the same one.
There is nothing to do here in the short term, because there is nothing to submit. The thing to watch is whether ucollect publishes the new standard in a form that lets anyone check it, or simply asserts that grading is stricter now.
